Faith Formation Classes (CCD)
The process of Faith Formation is the responsibility of everyone in our parish:  Priests, staff, ministers, parishioners, sponsors and godparents, volunteer catechists, and especially parents. It is a gradual process over years of a child growing and maturing toward an adult understanding of our Catholic Faith.  In order to complement this ongoing process, Faith Formation classes are provided for children in Pre-K (ages 3-4) through 8th grade.  These classes are held every Sunday morning from 10:45 a.m. to Noon (year round).
As children enter more deeply into our faith community (usually age 7 and up), they are given instruction to help them prepare for reception of the Sacraments of First Reconciliation and First Eucharist.  It is assumed that the process of Faith Formation has been ongoing in their lives and that it will continue to be renewed long after they have received the Sacraments of Reconciliation and Holy Eucharist.
Liturgy of the Word w/Children (Kid’s Kingdom)
At the 9:30 AM Mass each Sunday, prior to the Liturgy of the Word, children ages 3 to 10 are invited to stare the Word of God with trained ministers in an area separate from the main worship space.  They return to the Mass after the Priest has completed his homily.
Youth Ministry
Sacred Heart Youth Ministry is dedicated to leading Youth closer to Christ.  Sacred Heart youth group provides a Christ-centered, fun-filled ministry for youth between the ages of 12 and 18.  Inspired by our Catholic Faith, it is our goal to encourage youth to be active in all aspects of parish life and to integrate the faith formation of our young people with various social, spiritual and recreational needs.  We also strive to reach out to our parish community and to help those in need.  Examples of our outreach activities include our annual Homeless Retreat held every November and our participation in the Lenten Fish Fry held every Friday during the Lenten season.  The youth group meets regularly on the second and fourth Sundays of every month, and celebrate together at the 5:30 PM Mass.
Come celebrate your faith and  join with the Sacred Heart teens as they experience the depths of God’s love through the Word, the Community and the Eucharist.
Sacred Heart Church has an active youth ministry program for all youth of the community in grades 6th-12th. Our mission is to foster the spiritual, service and social being of each youth and enable them to live as faithful companions of Jesus Christ. We do this by using a meaningful and effective faith formation program which engages their energy, imagination, curiosity, and playful spirit in exploration of their Catholic faith. Come join us for faith, fellowship, food and fun.
High School Group, grades 9th-12th, meets Sunday after the 5:30 pm Mass to 8:30 pm.
Middle School, grades 6th-8th, meets the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of the month from 6-8PM in the Parish center.

Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA)
The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults is a process or a journey, which gently leads adults into a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ within the Catholic Church. These include:
  • Adults who have never been baptized.
  • Adults who have been baptized in another Christian faith.
  • Adults who were baptized Catholic but did not receive formal instruction in the faith or celebrate the Sacraments of Reconciliation, Holy Eucharist and Confirmation.
The process will take approximately 6 months to complete. Participants meet regularly to share the Word of God, to reflect on the mystery of God’s call, and to be informed about the teachings of the Catholic Church. Please Note: The Catholic Church warmly welcomes back all those Catholics who have received instruction and celebrated the Sacraments of Baptism, Reconciliation, Holy Eucharist and Confirmation but have fallen away from the practice of their faith and have a sincere desire to return to full communion with the Catholic Church. Jesus reminds us in this parable:
“Rejoice with me because I have found my lost sheep. I tell you, in just the same way there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous people who have no need of repentance.” (Luke 15 6-7).
Bible Study for Adults
Bible Study is a spiritual renewal process designed to assist adults in their understanding and love of Holy Scripture.  In reading and discussing Biblical texts, adult students develop a greater appreciation of the impact of the Word on their faith life as Baptized Christians in today’s world.  at the same time, they increase their knowledge and love for Christ and His teachings.  Adult Bible Study classes are held on Monday evenings from 7:00 to 9:00 PM and Wednesdays 10:00 AM to Noon at the Parish Center.
Summer Vacation Bible School
Each summer, Sacred Heart offers an exciting and creative week of teaching Scripture to Per-K through Grade 5.  Themes vary each year, but are made up of activities, games, music and crafts that fill each session with the joyful sounds of children praising Jesus.
Generations of Faith
These are dynamic, periodic experiences for the faithful of all ages (young children, adolescents, young adults, married couples and older adults) to share a meal, music, or other fellowship activity with opportunities to celebrate our Catholic beliefs, traditions, and responsibilities.  This creates a lifelong Faith Formation and ongoing conversion.
Christ Renews His Parish (CRHP)
This is a program offered by Sacred Heart Church to help bring people closer to God and to foster fellowship among parishioners.  It consists of a weekend spiritual retreat which is offered periodically throughout the year.  These retreats are scheduled separately for women and men.  Participants in these retreats also attend bi-weekly follow-up sessions to give witness, refresh, and strengthen the benefits of this significant faith experience.  One of the key objectives of this program is to develop good Christian friends with whom we can share our faith journey.
Christ Renews His Parish (CRHP) is a spiritual renewal process designed to bring members of our parish together in Christ.  CRHP has a clear focus on the Gospel and emphasizes continued growth in Christian life through scripture study, prayer, the sacraments, and fellowship with members of our parish community.
CRHP offers an opportunity to step back from daily life and re-examine our Christian, Catholic commitment to the teachings of Jesus.  The CRHP process begins with a renewal weekend at the parish (one weekend for men, one weekend for women) that runs from Saturday morning through Sunday afternoon.
The renewal weekend is open to all Sacred Heart parishioners who are at least 18 years of age.  Renewal weekends are ongoing and given for parishioners by parishioners.
After the renewal weekend, participants have the opportunity to put on the next weekend, (for the following group of parishioners) and participate in a team formation process that includes bi-weekly spiritual meetings.
CRHP is for anyone seeking spiritualrenewal and an opportunity to deepen their faith and sense of purpose within the parish community.
Legion of Mary

• Do you want to learn more about the Catholic faith?
• Do you want to enrich your prayer life?
• Do you want to develop close Catholic friendships?
• Do you want to grow closer to Jesus and His Mother?
What is it the Legion of Mary?
The Legion of Mary is the largest apostolic organization of lay people in the Catholic Church, with well over 3 million active members in almost every country in the world. It has been active in the United States since 1931, has been approved by the last six Popes and was endorsed by the Second Vatican Council. The main purpose of the Legion of Mary is to give glory to God through the sanctification of its members.
What does it do?
Members become instruments of the Holy Spirit through a balanced program of prayer and service. Works include door-to-door evangelization, parishioner visitation, prison ministry, visitation of the sick or the aged, crowd contact, religious education, visiting the newly baptized, Pilgrim Virgin statue rotations, and meeting the other spiritual needs of the parish community. Legionaries are under the guidance of a spiritual director named by the pastor. The Legion is, in essence, an extension of the heart and hands of the pastor.
How does it work?
Join us at our next meeting! We meet on Monday morning after the 9 AM mass or on Thursday afternoons at 5:30 PM. All women of the parish are encouraged to join this spiritual and service group.
Please contact the Parish Office at 541-4447 for more information.
