Parish News Faith Formation Registration for K-5 Now Open!

Registration for our Faith Formation program is now open for the upcoming year. We welcome children and youth as they grow in their knowledge of the Catholic faith and deepen their relationship with Jesus Christ. Classes will begin on September 13th. Families are encouraged to register early to ensure placement. Click here to register your child. No registrations will be accepted after September 1st.

Sacramental Information:

Baptism: If the child is ages 0-6, Click here for more information. If a child is age 7 or above, they will be part of our OCIC program Grades 3 thru age 13. First Reconciliation and

First Communion: Must be baptized Catholic and submit a copy of the child’s Baptismal Certificate.

Year 1: Must have completed at least one year of Faith Formation (e.g. 1st Grade in Catholic school or 1st year of parish religious education)

Year 2: Must have completed a second consecutive year of Faith Formation (e.g. 2nd Grade in Catholic School or 2nd Grade of parish religious education) before sacraments are celebrated.

Confirmation. Celebrated at Sacred Heart Church in 6th Grade: Requires two full years of consecutive Faith Formation (e.g. 5th and 6th grades in Catholic School or parish religious education) before the Sacrament is administered.

Order of Christian Initiation for Children (OCIC)

The Order of Christian Initiation for Children is a program for children in 3″4 grade through age 13, who have not received the Sacraments of Baptism or First Communion. If your child does not attend a Catholic School, your child must be enrolled in the Faith Formation Program to participate in this preparation. SASH Ministry

June 16th – meet in the Parish Center at 2pm for a guest speaker on Emergencies – what to do, how to help, and when not to help. The presentation will cover CPR, poison, choking, and other emergencies. Please RVSP to the parish office by calling 727-541-4447.

We will not be meeting in July and August. The next meeting will be on September 1st.

Feast of the Sacred Heart

JOIN US as we celebrate the Feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus at all Masses the weekend of June 13th and 14th. As we honor the boundless love and mercy of Christ, we also take this opportunity to offer our heartfelt gratitude and farewell at the 11:30 am Mass on June 14th to Fr. Augustine, who will be starting his new assignment on July 1st.

We thank Fr. Augustine for his faithful service, spiritual guidance, and many blessings shared with our parish family. Please keep him in your prayers as he begins this new chapter in his priestly ministry. May the Sacred Heart of Jesus continue to guide and strengthen him.

Following the 11:30 am Mass, join us for a luncheon reception in the Parish Center as we celebrate our Feast Day and express our gratitude and well wishes for Fr. Augustine in his new assignment.

Food will be provided by the parish. All are invited!

Summer Schedule for Groups, Ministries and Liturgies

As summer begins, the ministries listed below will be entering a season of rest. This pause allows leaders and participants time for renewal, family, and reflection. We look forward to these ministries resuming in the fall with fresh energy. Thank you for your continued prayers and support.

Youth Ministry – the last meeting will be May 26th and will resume on September 1st.

Tuesday Night Faith Study – the last meeting will be May 19th and will resume after Labor Day.

CRHP – last meeting will be May 18th and will resume on August 10th. Jr. Legion of Mary – The Jr. Legion had their last meeting on May 11th and is now on summer hiatus.The meetings will restart in early September.

Wednesday Evening Liturgies: Due to both priests traveling in June and Fr. Augustine leaving in July, the Wednesday evening Confessions, Adoration, and Mass will be suspended until further notice. The last date for these liturgies will be May 27th.

Grief Support

Baby Bottle Distribution

This weekend at all Masses, the Columbiettes are distributing baby bottles for their annual drive to support local crisis pregnancy centers. Consider taking a bottle and bringing back a donation May 16th and 17th. Your generosity with this drive is crucial for promoting a culture of life in our community. EMHC Training & Workshop

We are in need of volunteers for the privilege of assisting the clergy in the distribution of the Body & Blood of Christ at all weekend Masses. These lay ministers are known as Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion (EMHCs, or EMs for short). There will be a training for new volunteers on Saturday, May 16 at 10:00am and a workshop for existing EMs that same day at 11:00am.
