Parish News Faith Formation Registration for K-5 Now Open!
Registration for our Faith Formation program is now open for the upcoming year. We welcome children and youth as they grow in their knowledge of the Catholic faith and deepen their relationship with Jesus Christ. Classes will begin on September 13th. Families are encouraged to register early to ensure placement. Click here to register your child. No registrations will be accepted after September 1st.
Sacramental Information:
Baptism: If the child is ages 0-6, Click here for more information. If a child is age 7 or above, they will be part of our OCIC program Grades 3 thru age 13. First Reconciliation and
First Communion: Must be baptized Catholic and submit a copy of the child’s Baptismal Certificate.
Year 1: Must have completed at least one year of Faith Formation (e.g. 1st Grade in Catholic school or 1st year of parish religious education)
Year 2: Must have completed a second consecutive year of Faith Formation (e.g. 2nd Grade in Catholic School or 2nd Grade of parish religious education) before sacraments are celebrated.
Confirmation. Celebrated at Sacred Heart Church in 6th Grade: Requires two full years of consecutive Faith Formation (e.g. 5th and 6th grades in Catholic School or parish religious education) before the Sacrament is administered.
Order of Christian Initiation for Children (OCIC)
The Order of Christian Initiation for Children is a program for children in 3″4 grade through age 13, who have not received the Sacraments of Baptism or First Communion. If your child does not attend a Catholic School, your child must be enrolled in the Faith Formation Program to participate in this preparation.
