The Sunday of the Word of God is a means to help people “reawaken an awareness of the importance of Sacred Scripture for our lives as believers, beginning with its resonance in the liturgy which places us in living and permanent dialogue with God…through the proclaimed biblical readings in the liturgy, God speaks to his people and Christ himself (the priest in the person of Christ) proclaims his Gospel” (Cardinal Sarah).
When we come to Mass, we receive and encounter God in both Word and Eucharist. I pray that on this Word of God Sunday we never forget the importance of praying and feasting upon God’s Word. Amen. -Riley Arnemann
