Last weekend I watched a documentary about a humble Irish priest whose passion for prayer, especially the Rosary and family prayer, inspired millions. The film recounts the life and ministry of Fr. Patrick Peyton. His passion to share the benefits of prayer led him to Hollywood where he enlisted the stars of his day — from Bing Crosby to Jimmy Stewart to Princess Grace — to create radio dramas and TV specials that spread his famous global message, “The family that prays together stays together.” His Rosary Rallies drew staggering numbers and God’s Spirit used all his work to lead many to a greater life of prayer. The film is in limited release and may be difficult to find, but it is worth the effort!
